Following her impressive appearance at the DCP, Dorothee Bär, Federal Minister for Research, Technology and Space, followed up with a confident speech at the summer party organised by the industry association game. Bär once again emphasised the goals of the new government in games policy. These include tax incentives for games development as well as a reliable, predictable and customised funding system.

This system should be implemented as quickly as possible. Games should also be included in the federal government's high-tech agenda, which is currently being worked on in Bär's ministry. Dorothee Bär also announced her visit to gamescom and promised to present the first concrete results of the new federal government's games policy there.

Afterwards, game was satisfied with the minister's appearance. "The announcements made by Research Minister Dorothee Bär at our summer party, the strong statements on the games industry in the coalition agreement and the broad support in the political arena allow us to start the new legislative period with great confidence. We are very grateful for this support from many sides. As a games industry, we finally want to fully capitalise on our strengths in Germany. To do this, we need internationally competitive conditions, which are within reach with the announced introduction of additional tax incentives for games. We all need to utilise the current spirit of optimism to work together to implement this quickly and make Germany one of the top international locations for games development," says game Managing Director Felix Falk.

It was also important that Minister Dorothee Bär did not come alone to the Summer Reception. She also brought along Parliamentary State Secretary Matthias Hauer, who is responsible for games at the ministry and will therefore be crucial for the operational work.
