The "House of Games Berlin" aims to bring together a constantly growing network of national and international game studios, start-ups, indie studios, esports players, technology and service providers, agencies, associations, clubs, cultural institutions, research institutions, and freelancers. All of these groups will benefit from the numerous network effects. With a collaborative approach reflected in "shared spaces" such as meeting and workshop rooms, studios for podcast recordings, lounge areas, and event spaces. It aims to represent the entire games and creative technologies ecosystem. "The House of Games Berlin aims to generate national and international appeal and play a key role in developing Berlin into a leading gaming hub," say the organizers.

The "House of Games Berlin" is receiving substantial support from the Berlin Senate Chancellery in the form of €4.6 million in investment funding to expand the property. The project is also a key part of the current Berlin coalition agreement.

Kai Wegner, Governing Mayor of Berlin, said: “With the House of Games, we are creating something special in Berlin: a space for games companies, developers, and start-ups. The games industry is already an important economic factor in Berlin, generating an annual turnover of around €250 million and employing more than 3,000 people. I am confident that the House of Games will become home to established companies, developers, and founders from Germany and around the world. This central location brings together history, modern infrastructure, and creativity. It's the perfect mix for innovation, exchange, and development."

Benedikt Grindel, Zone Managing Director, Ubisoft Production Studios: “The House of Games Berlin is a pioneering project for the German gaming industry. As a large, international company, Ubisoft recognizes the importance of a diverse environment when developing a location in the long term. We need an ecosystem of large, medium, and small companies and a genuine digital games development culture. Regular informal exchanges, shared infrastructure, and interaction between the industry, educational institutions, scientific organizations, associations, youth protection agencies, and service providers will make the House of Games Berlin a vibrant place. This is a game changer for Berlin and Germany, and an important building block for catching up with major international centers of game development."

Franziska Giffey, the Senator for Economics, Energy and Public Enterprises, said: "With the House of Games, Berlin is becoming the top location for the games industry in Germany. Alongside fintech, green tech and health tech, the games industry has long been a key driver of innovation, digitalisation and economic growth in Berlin. That is why our economic policy aims to continuously expand this dynamic sector in our city. Last year alone, we provided over €6 million in state funding for the games industry and a further €4 million for the visual effects sector. We intend to maintain this level in the upcoming double budget. We are also campaigning for better federal-level support for games. Our message to gaming companies, studios, start-ups and developers is clear: we see you and want you in Berlin! With the House of Games, you now have a real home in Berlin that fosters networking, promotion and visibility. This project is another step towards our goal of becoming the number one location for innovation in Europe."

Jeannine Koch, Chairwoman of the Board and Managing Director of medianet berlinbrandenburg, said: "The announcement of the property and the central location for the House of Games Berlin marks an important milestone for this pioneering project. With the ‘LUX’ site, we have identified a future location for the House of Games Berlin, where a vibrant hub for collaboration and innovation will flourish. This growing ecosystem will demonstrate to national and international audiences that when synergies and sustainable cooperation are established, it is not only the companies and their stakeholders who benefit, but also the entire regional economy. For many years, and in the future, medianet's key concern has been to promote the games and creative technologies industry in the capital region and raise its profile beyond national borders. As the project's leading coordinating body and the state's representative for the gaming industry, we are committed to the successful realisation of the House of Games Berlin. Special thanks go to the Berlin Senate Chancellery for its tremendous commitment, even in challenging economic times, and to the Berlin Senate Department for Economics, Energy and Public Enterprises for its active support."

Felix Falk, the managing director of game, the German Games Industry Association, said: "The House of Games Berlin will be a unique venue with international appeal that will raise Germany's profile as an up-and-coming location for the gaming industry worldwide. This project will allow us to demonstrate the industry's diversity, culture, economic strength, and innovative capabilities in an impressive manner."

Roland Sillmann, the managing director of Wista Management GmbH, said: "We have found the ideal location for the House of Games Berlin. Here, we have the perfect conditions for our project in terms of creating an inspiring environment for gaming companies and building a strong local community. The central location will also enable us, as operators, to develop an innovation ecosystem in eastern Berlin and, in cooperation with Berlin's other locations, throughout the city. As the operator of innovation hubs such as the Adlershof Technology Park, we will contribute our expertise in designing spaces that give companies and talented individuals access to what they need: the right infrastructure, networks and opportunities for cooperation with science and technology companies."
