Torpor Games Is Now Self-Publishing the Suzerain Series
With the latest update to the mobile edition of Suzerain, Berlin-based studio Torpor Games has now taken over the entire publishing of the series.
Berlin-based Torpor Games has announced the Kingdom of Rizia 3.1 "Sovereign" update for the mobile version of Suzerain, marking a significant moment for Torpor Games as they are now self-publishing this new phase of Suzerain and actively working with Caboodle, whose support has been crucial in expanding the reach and impact of The Kingdom of Rizia, to broaden the community experience and visibility of their games. The mobile update was supported by the IGDA and the IGDA Foundation.
"With 'Sovereign', we set out to expand and deepen the potential of the DLC experience," says Ata Sergey Nowak, Managing Director of Torpor Games. "Players will navigate a more intricate web of choices, where scenes carry greater weight and challenges than ever before. Our goal was to create a royal experience that feels more dynamic, reactive, and challengingly rewarding."
The team of 18 released the premium DLC "The Kingdom of Rizia" for PC in March 2024. Torpor Games is also working on a prequel called The Conformist, a narrative role-playing game set in the 1930s in which the player guides Orwin - a propagandist working for the Sordland government - as he tries to find his way around the capital. This game is also based on the Suzerain universe.
"Players step into the city of Holsord, discovering the country of Sordland and its people caught in the turbulence of a newly established military government under President Tarquin Soll. Players must juggle their propagandist obligations to their superiors, their ambitions, and their families whilst avoiding the scrutiny of the state – or aiding the resistance against them", the studio wrotes.
