Astragon Entertainment and astragon Development (formerly known as Independent Arts prior to their acquisition by astragon) have launched Seafarer: The Ship Sim in Early Access on PC via the Steam and Epic Games Store, priced at €24.99.

This ship simulation game allows players to embark on their own maritime careers and take control of a variety of vessels. "Combining technical realism with exciting gameplay, Seafarer: The Ship Sim offers an immersive seafaring experience powered by Unreal Engine 5 and Nvidia WaveWorks 2.0, ensuring stunning visuals, lifelike wave physics, and dynamic weather conditions," said the publisher.

The game launched on Steam with a peak of 2,787 concurrent users (CCU). This is the sixth-highest CCU figure for the Düsseldorf-based company. Firefighting Simulator: Ignite, released in September 2025, reached 3,442. Construction Simulator (2022) remains in first place, however, with 17,365.

According to [astragon](/company/astragon-entertainment), players can expect over 30 hours of gameplay across the first two factions. They can start with the various and exciting missions of the first act of the Story Mode campaign or set their own pace in Quick Play Mode. "Crescentport Logistics tasks players with cargo operations using vessels such as the Tugboat Bernhard and the Cargo Ferry Herbert. The Tide Guard offers thrilling patrol and rescue missions with the Police Boat Rigid, the Police Ship Density, and firefighting specialists Archer and Lancer."

Astragon Entertainment and astragon Development are committed to expanding the game with free content updates. These will add new ships, missions and gameplay features, such as additional story acts, expanded map areas, a vessel editor, multiplayer co-op missions and a new faction. While some of the update content is already in development, other features will be based on future feedback from the community. Later in 2025, the Bulk and LNG Update will introduce large-scale shipping vessels as well as new cargo operations. Early next year, the Rescue Update will introduce the Tide Guard ships Salvation and Grace, adding high-stakes rescue missions to the fleet. Early Access is expected to end sometime in 2026.
