Nvidia and Intel have announced a collaboration to jointly develop multiple generations of custom data centre and PC products. In the context of personal computing, Intel will develop and offer x86 system-on-chip (SoC) solutions that integrate Nvidia RTX GPU chiplets to the market. These new x86 RTX SoCs will power a wide range of PCs demanding the "integration of world-class CPUs and GPUs", Nvidia said. It is possible that these processors could be used in handheld (gaming) PCs. For data centres, Intel will manufacture custom x86 CPUs for Nvidia, which will integrate them into its AI infrastructure platforms and offer them to the market. The companies will focus on seamlessly connecting Nvidia and Intel architectures using Nvidia NVLink technology.
