In Doom: The Dark Ages, only Path Tracing enables the pick-up items to cast reflections on the floor. The lighting conditions in the shaft also suggest the presence of another light source above. In the normal Ray Tracing version, it is dark there. Additionally, the grid on the floor casts a shadow.
