The Bavarian games accelerator 'Level Up' is entering its second round. Through this programme, the Free State of Bavaria is supporting independent development teams, individual developers, and young studios in turning their creative ideas into marketable projects. The programme is once again being run by Games/Bavaria, the Free State of Bavaria's location initiative for the games industry. 'Level Up' provides targeted support to participating teams in areas such as game design, business development, marketing and company formation.

Dr Fabian Mehring, the Bavarian Minister of State for Digital Affairs and patron of the programme, said: "With 'Level Up', we are specifically promoting young talent with the creative and economic potential to shape tomorrow's games industry. Bavaria offers these developers the ideal environment in which to turn their innovative ideas into successful studios. Games are much more than entertainment; they are a real field of the future for technology, value creation and digital creativity. Our goal is clear: Bavaria should not just be a player, but a shaper of the future in the Champions League of the international games industry."

The second Level Up programme will begin in August 2025 and last around six months. Participants can look forward to a variety of workshops, one-to-one coaching sessions, peer group meetings and networking events. Most of the face-to-face modules will take place at Gamerei, the Bavarian games industry hub in Munich.

The first round of the accelerator programme was completed in spring 2025. At a closing event, eight Bavarian studios presented their progress and visions. According to the Bavarian State Ministry of Digital Affairs, the response from the industry was 'consistently positive'.
