Developer [Grimlore Games](/company/grimlore-games) from Munich and publisher [THQ Nordic](/company/thq-nordic) from Vienna have released [Titan Quest II](/game/titan-quest-ii) in Early Access as a shadow drop during this year's THQ Nordic Showcase. The Early Access version on [Steam](https://store.steampowered.com/app/1154030/Titan_Quest_II/) and the [Epic Games Store](https://store.epicgames.com/de/p/titan-quest-ii-391cf4) is currently selling for $29.99 / €29.99, with a 20% discount. The full 1.0 release is expected to cost $49.99 / €49.99, and it is estimated that the Early Access phase will last over a year.

THQ Nordic: "By joining Early Access, you enter a world already brimming with content, challenge, and mystery - but far from complete. Titan Quest II will evolve over time, shaped by your feedback and forged in the fires of community. Our aim? To emerge from the labyrinth of Early Access by the end of 2026. But as every hero knows, no path reveals its full length until it is walked. (...) In the distance, whispers speak of a character creator, where heroes may shape their form as boldly or as subtly as Hephaestus shapes bronze. Ancient forges stir with the promise of crafting and transmogrification, arcane arts that let you wield your chosen armaments while appearing as heroic as a demigod. New masteries await, shrouded in mystery, offering paths of power not yet walked. Realms unseen and foes unknown gather beyond the mists, waiting for champions worthy of their wrath."

The current Early Access version offers a core gameplay experience with around 15 hours of content. Multiplayer is currently in an early preview state, which is functional but lacks features.

Titan Quest II is one of the biggest game projects currently being developed in Germany. It is being developed by Grimlore Games in Munich (the team has around 60 employees) and will be published by Austrian publisher THQ Nordic. The game has received €2.6 million in funding from the Federal Ministry for Economics and Climate Action. The action-RPG is based on its predecessor and the first Diablo, but retains the familiar mythological setting with a wide range of locations. The developers emphasise that encounters are handcrafted, and boss fights are unique. Character progression is achieved through masteries and their combination. THQ Nordic emphasises that the game will be a faithful recreation of the original, retaining its strengths such as the vibrant game world, while adding new locations. The combat system will be modernised while retaining a tactical approach.

THQ Nordic Releases Titan Quest II as a Shadow Drop in Early Access
