gameXcite secures Star Trek licence

Hamburg-based Jumpgate subsidiary gameXcite will develop a PC and console game based on the Star Trek franchise. A licensing agreement has been signed with Paramount Consumer Products.

Hamburg-based gameXcite, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Jumpgate AB, has signed a licensing agreement with Paramount Consumer Products for the use of Star Trek: The Next Generation, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine and Star Trek: Voyager for an upcoming PC and console game. "We are delighted that gameXcite is working on one of the world's biggest science fiction IPs, which spans numerous episodes, movies and books and captivates audiences on TV and streaming platforms every day," said Harald Riegler, CEO of Jumpgate AB. "Our team is not only experienced in handling licensed titles through their work on the Asterix games - including the upcoming "Asterix & Obelix Heroes" - but is also made up of die-hard Star Trek fans who want to deliver an in-depth, story-driven game that puts players:in the captain's chair!
