Publisher Aerosoft from Büren near Paderborn and developer Thera Bytes from Munich have announced Global Farmer for PC. In this farming simulation, players can choose any location in the world for their farm thanks to OpenStreetMap (OSM). Decisions have to be made based on real agricultural parameters such as soil conditions, seasonal fluctuations and more. If players are unhappy with the existing OSM data, they can add, change or remove fields at any time using the map editor. The game is set to go into Early Access, but no date has been announced.

"We are thrilled to finally introduce Global Farmer! Our team at Thera Bytes has worked tirelessly to create an authentic farming simulator that challenges players to make difficult decisions and manage their resources wisely," said Thorsten Feldmann, CEO of Thera Bytes. "We want players to be fully immersed in their farming tasks, planning and strategy, and have incorporated real-world farming values and challenges into the game to provide a refreshing and realistic experience for aspiring farmers."

This is the second collaboration between Aerosoft and Thera Bytes after Zombie Cure Lab. Thera Bytes received almost 200,000 Euros from the German government's computer games funding programme for Global Farmer, which at the time had the working title Project Yoda - the company always works with Star Wars working titles, such as Project Endor (single player tactical rogue-lite), which is also in development.

"Global Farmer takes authenticity to the next level by incorporating real parameters for agricultural values. From soil conditions to seasonal fluctuations, every aspect of your farming experience reflects the complexity of the agricultural world. This means that your decisions must be based on the same factors that real farmers face. Contract with local businesses to fulfill their needs, sell the results of your hard work on the market and acquire a variety of equipment yourself, inspired by real-world farming vehicles and equipment."
