Switch 2 Boosts Nintendo's Financial Results, Six Million Units Sold in Seven Weeks
Despite supply problems in many countries, Switch 2 exceeded six million units globally in the seven weeks after launch. Over 95% of Switch 2 owners have purchased Mario Kart World. Consequently, the company's quarterly results are positive.
In the first quarter of Nintendo's fiscal year, net sales increased by 132.1% year-on-year to 572.3 billion Yen (~ €3.33 billion). Operating profit rose by 4.4% to 56.9 billion Yen (~ €331 million), while ordinary profit declined by 15.6% to 95.8 billion yen (~ €558 million). Profit attributable to owners of the parent company increased by 18.6% to 96.0 billion yen (~ €559 million). The number of annual playing users from July 2024 to June 2025 will be 128 million.
