In the first month after launch, Monster Hunter Wilds sold more than 10 million copies worldwide. According to Capcom, this is a new company record.

The news of the record-breaking launch comes just days before the release of the first free update on 4 April. Monster Hunter Wilds, the latest entry in the successful series, had sold over ten million copies worldwide by the end of March. The game was released only on 28 February for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X.

According to the company, Monster Hunter Wilds has broken an internal Capcom record, achieving the most successful launch month in the company's long history.

The first Monster Hunter titles were released more than 20 years ago, initially limited to Capcom’s home market. Over time, however, the series gradually gained traction in international markets, where its popularity continues to grow. According to Capcom, more than 108 million units of the series had been sold worldwide as of 31 December 2024. With the success of Monster Hunter Wilds, the franchise is now likely approaching, or may have just surpassed, the 120 million mark.
