Rhineland-Palatinate Approves €240,000 in Direct and Indirect Funding for Games
In the first round of funding by Medienförderung RLP, the jury gave the green light for funding to 23 projects, including seven games, and three scholarships. The second round of funding will start in July.
The jury had a difficult choice to make when selecting the recipients of this year's funding in Rhineland-Palatinate. A total of 111 applications were submitted, including eleven applications for scholarships and 22 for games projects. In the end, 26 grants were awarded, 16 to projects in the audio-visual sector, 7 to games and 3 scholarships.
The seven games received a total of 222,000 euros in funding. 54,000 euros went to the scholarships and 372,894 euros were awarded to the audiovisual projects. As the grant for Julia-Jasmin Bold is for a project development for an interactive educational game with the working title ColorMath, which received €18,000 in funding, the total funding for games projects amounts to €240,000.

The second funding round in Rhineland-Palatinate, which is organised bei Medienförderung RLP, will start on 1 July 2025 and run until 10 October. As in other federal states, an initial consultation is required before submitting an application.
