Just over a week after having to announce job cuts at Hamburg-based Fishlabs, Lars Janssen, VP Worldwide Studios & Talents at Plaion, is leaving the Plaion embracer division. He is looking for a change and is open to new challenges.

As Vice President Worldwide Studios & Talents at Plaion, Lars Janssen was also responsible for subsidiary studios such as Fishlabs, and as such made the official statement on the cancellation of Project Black and job cuts at the Hamburg-based developer. Now he is stepping down: "After four eventful years, I have decided to close the chapter on Plaion. As is usual at times like this, I have been thinking about change. They say that change is the only constant in life, and they are right. But here's the kicker: change is not only inevitable, it's essential for our personal development," said Janssen in a statement on LinkedIn.

As CEO of the gaming association, Janssen co-hosted gamescom 2023 this summer. According to Janssen, he intends to continue his work at game.

As part of the Embracer Group, Plaion, formerly Koch Media, has not been spared the financial difficulties of the Swedish group. It is not known if Janssen's departure is related to this.

For the future, Janssen is looking for new challenges. "I am open to new opportunities, ready to apply everything I have learnt, to develop myself and to help others along the way. So if you're looking for someone who is passionate about building teams and taking them to their own Super Bowl, then I'm the man for you.
