Für den großen Verkaufserfolg des Nintendo-Switch-Titels "Animal Crossing: New Horizons" gibt es im Mai 2020 den game Sales Award Sonderpreis.

"Animal Crossing: New Horizons" schnappt sich den game Sales Award Sonderpreis, da es sich bis Mai 2020 mehr als 500.000 Mal verkaufen konnte. Der Verkaufserfolg des Nintendo-Titels zeichnete sich bereits bei Release stark ab. Bereits im März hatte sich das Echtzeitabendteuer bereits 200.000 Mal in Deutschland verkauft. Für den Sales Award Sonderpreis brauchte es gerade einmal zwei Monate Zeit.

Jeden Monat verleiht der Verband game die game Sales Awards für Spiele, die bestimmte plattformübergreifende Verkaufserfolge in Deutschland feiern.
