Ubisoft Hands Over Publishing to Hooded Horse

Ubisoft and the studio Unfrozen have entered into a partnership agreement with Hooded Horse. Although Ubisoft is one of the largest publishers worldwide, Hooded Horse will take over publishing for the French Major, but only for Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era.

It is quite surprising that a major publisher is handing over the publishing rights for one of its titles to a smaller partner. Especially since it is a game from the Heroes of Might and Magic series. Although Ubisoft has stronger IPs such as the brands it is outsourcing to its jointly financed subsidiary with Tencent (Assassin's Creed, Far Cry and Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six), Heroes of Might and Magic is not really small, as evidenced by the more than 600,000 wishlists on Steam.
