The first Gamevasion powered by DreamHack took place under its new name in the halls of the Hannover Exhibition Centre from 5 to 8 December. The gaming festival kicked off with 18,000 visitors, including gamers, tabletop enthusiasts, artists and cosplayers.

At the opening ceremony, the Lord Mayor of Hannover, Belit Onay, Michael Rose, Head of Protocol at Deutsche Messe AG, and Michael Haenisch, CEO of organiser Freaks 4U Gaming, shared the main stage as part of the political opening. "Having Gamevasion as a guest is great for the city, there's always something new, there's a good atmosphere,' said Lord Mayor Onay during the press conference. "As far as gaming and esports are concerned, we in Hannover are very sustainable thanks to our associations and initiatives, and Gamevasion is one of the highlights of the year here."

After two years of DreamHack Hannover, organiser Freaks 4U Gaming has launched the Gamevasion brand, with the primary aim of putting the community in the spotlight in order to continue developing the project together. Michael Haenisch: "After two successful editions of DreamHack Hannover, we are incredibly proud to have launched the first edition of our own gaming festival Gamevasion powered by DreamHack. With this community-focused event, we want to create experiences that connect people in an authentic way. We are delighted with the positive feedback we received for the wide range of content and the welcoming atmosphere we presented last weekend. On behalf of the entire team, we would like to thank our loyal community and partners for their support. Interacting with you is very important to us and we look forward to shaping the future of Gamevasion together."

On 7 December, the Gamevasion Cosplay Contest offered a total of €5,000 in prize money. Nils Beardfoot took first place in the Best Cosplay category, followed by RuCher and October Cosplay in second and third place respectively. More than 160 members of the 501st Legion and Rebel Legion showcased their film-inspired cosplay in the 1,200 square metre Sci-Fi Zone. Saturday was all about the Prime League, with show matches featuring famous players such as Keduii and Abbedagge, the launch of the new E wie Einfach esports roster and the Award Show. On Sunday, the most talented LAN players took to the main stage to compete for a total of €15,000 in prize money. In League of Legends, HNVR Esports took advantage of their home turf and won €1,500. A total of 70 artists took part in Artist Alley, almost twice as many as last year. More than 100 creators, including Autophil and Maxim, produced over 100 hours of content in streams alone. Many of them networked in Gamevasion's Creator Hub, took part in workshops or met their fans in Meet & Greets.
