Bei steigendem Umsatz sank das Nettoergebnis von Electronics Boutique im 1. Quartal.

Electronics Boutique hat das 1. Quartal des laufenden Geschäftsjahrs bilanziert. Mit Stichtag 31. März lag der Umsatz bei 507,1 Mio. US-Dollar und damit um 36 Prozent höher als im Vorjahr. Das Wachstum resultiere aus dem gelungen Start von Sonys PlayStation Portable, starker Nachfrage nach PlayStation 2 sowie den starken Softwareverkäufen, die im Jahresvergleich um 30,4 Prozent anzogen.

Das Konzernergebnis sank trotz steigender Umsätze im Jahresvergleich um elf Prozent auf 2,8 Mio. Dollar oder elf US-Cent je Aktie. Hier machten sich vor allem die Kosten der bevorstehenden Fusion mit Nochkonkurrent GameStop bemerkbar, teilte das Unternehmen mit.
