The International, the annual esports Dota 2 championship tournament, is taking place in Germany this year, in Hamburg to be precise. This is the second time that the massive event has been held in Germany.

The most prestigious tournament on the Dota 2 scene will take place in Hamburg from 11th to 14th September 2025. This is the second time that The International has been held in Germany. The tournament series made its debut at gamescom in Cologne in 2011. Last year's event was held at the Royal Arena in Copenhagen.

Valve Software: "The sixteen contending teams will once again consist of a mix of open qualifiers, regional qualifiers, and direct invitations, with more information on all of that to come. For now, there's still a ton of professional Dota to be played before we can get there. The January viewing calendar has already been packed, as teams around the world fight through qualifiers to earn spots in tournaments slated to kick off in the weeks and months ahead."
