After more than six years of development, Drova - Forsaken Kin finally has a release date: 15 October 2024. The dark pixel RPG is being developed by Magdeburg-based Just2D and published by Deck13 Spotlight.

Deck13 Spotlight and Just2D are releasing Drova - Forsaken Kin, a dark and gritty pixel RPG set in a mystical Celtic world, on 15 October for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. "During gamescom countless people played the game on PC and Nintendo Switch, with creators of the original Gothic stepping in and revealing they were part of a public playtest. They have finally found a game which captures the spirit of the original Gothic for the very first time," the publisher wrote. They promise 40 hours of story-driven gameplay in a handcrafted, open pixel art world, two factions and a combat system with multiple weapon classes and magic.

Deck13 Spotlight is the indie publishing division of Deck13 Interactive, helping independent developers bring their projects to a wider audience. The biggest success of the Deck13 Spotlight so far has been the release of Chained Echoes by Matthias Linda. Just2D is an independent development studio founded in 2021 in Magdeburg by four passionate developers. Drova is their first title. The game was also funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action as part of the German government's computer game funding programme with 324,331 Euros.
