At gamescom 2024, Telekom hosted the second Equal eSports Cup for women and non-binary players. At the same time, a panel discussion and workshops were held on the importance of non-male role models in esports.

The Equal eSports Initiative of Deutsche Telekom had a bigger presence at this year's gamescom. In the final of the Equal eSports Cup on 25 August, Team NNOwO triumphed over G2 HEL in the second League of Legends tournament for women and non-binary players. Ayse Semiz-Ewald, Vice President Group Diversity Deutsche Telekom, and Antje Hundhausen, Vice President Brand Experience, together with Alexander Müller, Managing Director SK Gaming, presented the trophy to the team. A total of 10,000 Euros in prize money was awarded to the top four teams, with 5,000 Euros going to NNOwO.

Antje Hundhausen, initiator of the Equal eSports Initiative, congratulates the winners: "Congratulations to NNOwO. The second Equal eSports Cup has sent a strong signal for equality and diversity in esports. It was especially important to hold the final at gamescom in front of so many enthusiastic gamers and fans. Our goal remains to establish mixed teams in the long term. I am particularly pleased that Miella Steger, a talent from the Equal eSports Initiative, is part of the winning team NNOwO." Together with SK Gaming and Riot Games, Deutsche Telekom has created the Equal eSports Cup.

In addition to the Equal eSports Cup, Deutsche Telekom also presented the Equal eSports panel "From Dream to Reality: The Importance of Non-Male Role Models", in which Antje Hundhausen discussed the challenges and opportunities of different role models in esports with Twitch and TikTok streamer DI1ARAA and League of Legends esports player Luna "Zavee" Lochmann. DI1ARAA explained: "It's incredibly important that young people in esports have role models they can relate to. Being part of this panel and talking about my own experiences means a lot to me, because I want to show that there is a place for everyone to pursue their dreams - regardless of gender." The Responsible Gaming Days, which were open to the public, took place at the same time in the Congress Center Nord. In cooperation with the esports player foundation, workshops were offered on responsible media consumption, gaming, social media, as well as hate speech and toxic behaviour.
