The accession of the Irish association IMIRT marks the second new addition to the association this year. In October 2025, EGDF Managing Director Jari-Pekka Kaleva welcomed the Macedonian Games Industry Association. With IMIRT, the EGDF now has 26 members from 24 European countries. Two organizations from both Poland and Belgium  are members of the EGDF. WALGA, the Walloon Games Association, joined EGDF in October 2024.

"Ireland is one of the key emerging game development hubs in the EU. We are more than happy to welcome Irish game developers into our network to share best practices, solve the industry’s challenges, and unite ourselves in building a European game industry on European terms," said Kaleva.

And Colm Larkin, CEO of IMIRT, adds: "This is a fantastic opportunity for IMIRT as we join EGDF, and we look forward to strengthening the connections between Ireland and our colleagues all over Europe."
