Over 60 Mentoring Sessions at Pitch Level Up 2025, Plus Expert Talks and Peer-to-Peer Reviews
On 20 February, Gamecity Hamburg hosted its annual Pitch Level Up event, where gaming experts give 1:1 feedback on game pitches. Participants came not only from Hamburg, but also from Cologne and Bavaria.
The fourth edition of Gamecity Hamburg's Pitch Level Up took place on 20 February. This event allowed founders, developers, students and other participants to pitch their games to dedicated experts in 1:1 sessions. The main goal of the mentoring sessions was to spread knowledge about how to successfully pitch a game to publishers and investors. A programme of talks on different aspects of game pitching complemented the mentoring opportunities. For example, Rockfish Games CEO Michael Schade talked about 'How they pitched Everspace 2', Simon Ledder from the DLR project group explained the German government's funding of games, Søren Lass gave an 'Overview of the Publisher Market for Games in 2025' and André Bernhardt talked about 'Realistic Business Cases'. In addition, for the first time ever, this Pitch Level Up offered the more than 70 Pitch Level Up visitors a new peer-to-peer area to get feedback from other developers.
Following games industry experts offered 1:1 sessions for individual pitch feedback: Christopher KellnerChristopher Kellner (Head of Business Development at astragon Entertainment), Søren Lass (Business Development Consultant at Tugboat Interactive), Nina Müller (VP Publishing & Development Services at Goodgame Studios, Steffen Rühl (Business Development Consultant, specialized in the Games Industry), Michael Schade (CEO & Co-Founder at Rockfish Games GmbH), Margarete Schneider (Project Manager at Gamecity Hamburg and Games Lift Incubator), Dennis Schoubye (Head of Gamecity Hamburg, member of the awarding committee for Gamecity Hamburg prototype funding) and Kristin von der Wense (Publishing Producer Daedalic Entertainment).
