On Sunday, GG Bavaria in Munich presented the GG Awards 2026, their own award show on the main stage of the entertainment hall. Moderated by Laura Peters, five categories of games were awarded to games that were playable on site.

The last category, the Cosmic Choice award given through popular vote, was handed over by Bavarian Digital Minister Fabian Mehring, who had been at the fair on Sunday for a press tour and several stage points. Mehring announced his tripled pleasure, because the team that got the award for their game Incredibug, Memory Forge, did not only receive funding for the game from FFF Bayern and was part of the Level Up Accelerator started under Mehring, but is also from his home county Augsburg.

The only game award that did not stay in Bavaria went to the southern neighborhood: to Fire Totem Games in Austria for their viral spider game A Webbing Journey.

Here are all award winners of GG Awards 2026

  • Vision Award: Oku by Irox Games (Garching) and ByteRockers' Games (Berlin)
  • Horizon Award: A Webbing Journey by Fire Totem Games (Wernberg, Austria) and Future Friends Games
  • Nova Award: OrbiTower by Spicy Sushi Games (Unterschleißheim)
  • Echo Award: Imprinted by Cobalt Lane (Munich)
  • Cosmic Choice Award: Incredibug by Memory Forge (Gersthofen bei Augsburg)

Mehring used the momentum of the award presentation to present another honouring to a bunch of Bavarian studios: He gave out the certificates for the second round of the Level Up Accelerator to the participating studios. These included Magic Pigeon Games, Memory Forge, Favorite Ice Cream Studios, Alexander Mrohs, CommuniCat Studios, RocketMind, Spicy Sushi Games, Wegfreund Games, Noah Lederer and Laurin Schürer.
