For the sixth time, the indie scene will gather in Cologne in mid-July for the Indie Game Fest. The organisers from Indie Hub are once again putting together a business area and various side events.

The Indie Game Fest is one of the largest meeting places for indie developers besides gamescom and the various regional game fairs in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. This year, a total of 40 games will be on display at the Am Wasserturm Hotel from 11 to 12 July, waiting to be tried out. The main programme, which is usually attended by the developers themselves, will once again be complemented by side events.

These include the Media Meets Games networking breakfast before the event kicks off on Friday, and the after-show party on Sunday evening, organised by the School of Games. On Friday evening, the organisers are also planning a pitch event at Xperion Cologne.

Business will not be neglected at the Indie Game Fest either. A separate business area will provide space for discussions and exchanges on site.

"We can't wait for it to finally get started," says Stefan Schmidt, Managing Director of the Indie Hub. "As in previous years, the Indie Game Fest is an incredibly important event that offers young, innovative developers the chance to present the fruits of their hard work to a wide audience, in some cases for the first time. We want to create the ideal setting for them, but also for the audience, of course."
