After former department head Matteo Riatti switched from Federal games funding carrier DLR Projekträger to become Division Head for games at the Federal Ministry of Research, the new contact people at DLR Projektträger for the games industry have now introduced themselves. In a congratulations message to the nominees of the German Computer Game Awards that have received Federal funding, Department Head Dr. Patrick Lay, Project Manager Dr. Stefanie Wefers and Deputy Project Manager Paul Mathia have come forward as the liaisons for the games industry.

Patrick Lay, Department Head Computer Games/Creative Industries: “The DCP demonstrates just how important games are for culture, education, and innovation. Without federal funding, many of the projects we celebrate today would not have been possible. It ensures that bold ideas do not fail due to financial obstacles—and that Germany remains visible in the global marketplace.”

Stefanie Wefers, Project Manager Games Funding: “The DCP strengthens the industry’s economic significance and sets quality standards. By combining an awards ceremony with federal funding, it creates an ecosystem that attracts talent and fosters innovation. We have been an enthusiastic part of this ecosystem since 2019.”
