With its 25th institutional member, the EGDF has reached another milestone almost 20 years after its founding. The accession of the Macedonian Games Industry Association also reflects the efforts of the EGDF, which has continuously expanded its activities in Southern and Eastern Europe in recent years.

"The membership of the MGI strengthens our voice in Macedonia to defend European game developers. We are more than happy to welcome Macedonian game developers into our network to share best practices, solve the industry’s challenges, and unite ourselves in building a European game industry on European terms," says Jari-Pekka Kaleva, the managing director of EGDF. "In particular, we must keep the borders of the EU open for the Macedonian game industry business visitors, ensure access of Macedonian developers to EU funding and overcome the challenges Macedonian game developers face with global game industry platforms with their games."

The EGDF was founded in 2006 with the aim of supporting European game studios in their search for talent and funding, and to find a route to the top of the game industry value chain. Its members include the respective game developers' associations, including SNJV in France, TIGA in the UK, and DEV in Spain, as well as game in Germany and IIDEA in Italy, where developers and publishers are once again organizing themselves into a joint association.
