Im Onlineshop der Elektronikfachkette MediaMarkt können Kunden der paybox.net AG ab sofort bestellte Waren auch per Handy bezahlen. Dies teilten beide Unternehmen bei der IT-Messe Systems in München mit. Paybox ist die erste bargeldlose Zahlungsmethode im Shop der MediaMarkt online GmbH und soll die klassische Bezahlmethode per Nachnahme ergänzen. Bei Paybox registrierte Nutzer geben nach einer Bestellung im Internet ihre Mobilfunknummer ein und erhalten anschließend einen automatischen Anruf. Die Zahlung wird durch Eingabe einer vierstelligen PIN-Nummer bestätigt und der Betrag vom Girokonto abgebucht.
