Bigger German Presence at NG25 Spring; Peter Molyneux and Josef Fares Among the First Speakers
NG25 Spring will take place in May next year, and Germany will have an even bigger presence than last year in Malmö. The first speakers have also been announced, including Peter Molyneux and Josef Fares. The organisers have also announced some changes to the schedule.
The twenty-first edition of Nordic Game on 20-23 May is already taking shape: Peter Molyneux, Josef Fares, Junae Benne, Harry Kruger and more have been announced as speakers at NG25 Spring in Malmö, once again at the Slagthuset. The organisers are preparing the biggest edition yet, and several hundred of the 3500+ industry professionals expected to attend have already secured their tickets.
Once again, there will be a large exhibition floor, and Germany will have an even bigger presence than last year. "We are truly delighted to see many of our exhibitors from previous years returning, but also to welcome new indie games, growing studios, and not least country delegations from all over the world to NG25 Spring," says Biz Dev Director Tom Felices, who expects over 100 new games to be presented on the show floor.
The speaker programme is also taking shape. Program Director Jacob Riis on the initial line-up: "I'm very pleased with our first announcements, and I dare to reveal that there are many more highlights in the pipeline. As always we aim at creating the most inclusive, diverse, and international speaker program as possible." The first batch of speakers includes Peter Molyneux, founder and CEO of Bullfrog Productions, Lionhead Studios and now 22cans. Also announced are Josef Fares and Oskar Wolontis (Leaders of Hazelight Studios; It Takes Two), Harry Krueger (ex-Housemarque and game director of Returnal), Junae Benne (PR and community building expert), Veronica Pazos (lead designer at Paradox Interactive on Crusader Kings III), and consultant and analyst Marie Mejerwall, who will take the audience through the AI combat systems she has worked with. The full initial schedule can be found here.
The main changes to the NG25 Spring schedule compared to previous editions are summarised by the organiser as follows: "If you've attended Nordic Game before, the most notable change compared to previous editions is our conference kick-off and show floor opening on Tuesday morning, 20 May and main event wrap-up on Thursday evening, 22 May with the Nordic Game Awards and Nordic Game Party. Friday 23 May will feature a bonus program curated by industry experts Mighty Diamonds and created with local game startups, growing studios and game development students in mind." All NG25 Spring pass holders will be welcome to the Friday event at Slagthuset; the schedule change is primarily to accommodate our participants from outside the region looking to travel home before the weekend. Also note that additional activities, including social gatherings and networking events organised by partners and sponsors, will be added to the schedule as we get closer to our May kick-off."
