Matthias Holm will be joining the IGN Deutschland (IGN Germany) team on October 1. He is the second new addition this year after Antonia Dreßler. Camiel Slingerland, Managing Director of eMense, describes the reinforcement as "another important step in our strategy to further establish IGN as a reliable brand in the German market". 

According to IGN Germany Holm was taken on by the in-house online portal TV Movie Online after completing the Bauer Verlag journalism school. Over the past five years, he was responsible for gaming there and completely rebuilt the anime division.

"I can't wait to take IGN Germany to the next level with Matthias on board. With his film and anime expertise, we are now also excellently positioned in this area. The fact that he is also into gaming and beats me and Antonia in Magic: The Gathering duels is the icing on the cake, so to speak," says Editor-in-chief Manuel Fritsch. 

Matthias Holm adds: "IGN is one of the most important online magazines for my leisure interests, cinema and gaming. So I'm excited and delighted to be able to contribute my knowledge and skills to the editorial team here in Germany."

Since November 2023, IGN Germany has been managed, developed, and expanded by eMense International BV in cooperation with the US licensor Ziff Davis. The Dutch publisher also manages IGN Benelux and the Scandinavian offshoot IGN Nordics.
