Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era Delayed Until 2026, Demo Available
Hooded Horse, Ubisoft and Unfrozen have postponed the Early Access launch of Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era until 2026. However, fans can still try out a demo before Early Access, which is an increasingly popular strategy.
Unfrozen, Ubisoft and Hooded Horse have decided to postpone the release of Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era. The game will not be released in 2025. Instead, it will be made available via Steam Early Access in 2026. This upcoming turn-based strategy game has recently surpassed 800,000 wishlists on Steam. When it comes to both how it looks and feels and how it's played, it draws a lot of inspiration from the earlier Heroes games.
The news was announced during the Heroes of Might and Magic 30th Anniversary Celebration stream, which was hosted by Ubisoft to celebrate the series and its fans. To coincide with this, a Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era demo featuring four playable factions and three different game modes (Classic, Single Hero mode and Arena mode) has been released. While this build is single-player only, the full game will feature multiplayer, additional modes and extra factions, to name but a few of the new features. Thus, the trend of releasing a demo before the Early Access release of a game continues, as was recently seen with Endless Legend 2, 9 Kings and Deadly Days: Roadtrip, to name a few examples.
Speaking of 9 Kings, the game published by Hooded Horse in collaboration with Instinct3 in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, has been updated with the release of its ninth and final king, the King of Time. Now that the ninth king has arrived, the foundations of 9 Kings are finally complete. However, this is only the beginning: more content and patches are on the way, including new game modes. 9 Kings has also recently been nominated for the "Best Early Access Game" award at the 43rd Golden Joystick Awards, which will be held in London next month.
