With just over five months to go, Geoff Keighley has announced the date for this year’s Summer Game Fest (SGF). The event will not only feature the usual Play Days but, for the first time, will also include a special gathering for industry thought leaders, curated by Christopher Dring.

The Summer Game Fest is set for 6 June. While no details about the content have been revealed yet, it is expected that numerous publishers will use the platform to announce new games or share updates on upcoming titles.

Launched during the pandemic in 2020, SGF has since evolved into a de facto E3 replacement, albeit without the traditional trade fair component. For producer Geoff Keighley, it marks one of three flagship events alongside The Game Awards and his role in gamescom Opening Night Live (ONL). The Game Awards are scheduled for 11 December 2025, while ONL will take place on 18 August.

As in previous years, SGF will be followed by Play Days, an invite-only event where influencers and press representatives can go hands-on with featured games.

Meanwhile, Keighley has also announced a new addition for 2025. Taking to social media, he unveiled plans for an exclusive thought leaders' event. "This event will feature voices from gaming, entertainment, and beyond for discussions about the changes, challenges, and opportunities ahead," Keighley wrote on X/Twitter. He has enlisted Christopher Dring, former head of GamesIndustry.biz, as the event's curator.
