Die PlayStation-Studios-Familie wird größer. Sony Interactive Entertainment hat die Übernahme von Valkyrie Entertainment bestätigt. Das auf Co-Entwicklung spezialisierte Studio wird auch an "God of War: Ragnarök" mitarbeiten.

Sony Interactive Entertainment hat die Übernahme von Valkyrie Entertainment angekündigt. Hermen Hulst, Head of PlayStation Studios, schrieb auf Twitter, dass das Studio in Zukunft "unschätzbare Beiträge zu wichtigen PlayStation-Studios-Franchises leisten" würde. In einer Pressemitteilung hob Sony hervor, dass das Tagesgeschäft nach der Übernahme vom aktuellen Management-Team von Valkyrie Entertainment weitergeführt werden soll. Die Bedingungen der Transaktion, einschließlich der Übernahmekosten, wurden nicht bekannt gegeben.

Valkyrie Entertainment wurde 2002 gegründet und hat an über 100 Spielen mitgewirkt, meistens als Co-Entwicklungsstudio oder im Zuge der Erstellung von bestimmten Inhalten. Zu den Eigenproduktionen zählt "Guns Up!". Das Studio aus Seattle hat mit Sony unter anderem an "God of War" (2018), "Twisted Metal" und "Infamous" zusammengearbeitet. Auch am kommenden "God of War Ragnarök" ist Valkyrie Entertainment beteiligt. Das nächste Abenteuer von Kratos und Atreus soll 2022 erscheinen. Darüber hinaus waren sie an "League of Legends", "Valorant", "Halo Infinite", "Forza Motorsport 7", "State of Decay 2" und "Mittelerde: Schatten des Krieges" beteiligt.
