Halo: Campaign Evolved is a faithful and expanded version of the campaign mode from Halo: Combat Evolved, created using Unreal Engine 5. This remake features 4K visuals, updated animations, remastered music, re-recorded voice lines, refined controls and up to four-player online co-op, as well as three new bonus campaign missions (prequel). Halo Studios has also included a selection of weapons and vehicles from later Halo games. The Campaign Remix feature enables players to revisit any mission and remix the experience by adding optional modifiers that randomise weapons, enemies and environments, thereby increasing the level of challenge and variety.
Executive Producer Damon Conklin said (Xbox Wire): "We're so excited about bringing Halo to those who may not have had chance to play it in the past. At its heart, Halo is about connection, we’re thrilled to meet a new generation of players on their platforms of choice to fall in love with Halo the same way we did. We’re not trying to rewrite Halo’s legacy – we’re trying to immerse you in it like never before."
Halo: Campaign Evolved is coming in 2026 to Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, Steam, PlayStation 5, supports Xbox Cloud Gaming and Xbox Play Anywhere and arrives day one with Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass.
