The free-to-play strategy tower defence game Royal Revolt 2 celebrates its 10th anniversary with over 40 million downloads. The game is a success story for Frankfurt-based Upright Games.

A decade after its initial release in 2014, Royal Revolt 2 continues to be a success. Developed by Upright Games of Frankfurt am Main, the game has reached over 40 million downloads to date. The game is available for mobile devices on iOS and Android, and for PC on the Windows Store and Steam.

Royal Revolt 2 is celebrating with the unveiling of a new server. From tomorrow, 27 March, this new server will open its doors to all adventurers, offering a unique opportunity to reset with accumulated wisdom and aim for a strong position on the leaderboards right from the start. "We are delighted to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Royal Revolt 2 with the community. We are particularly excited to see how the new server is received, as it's the first time we are offering players the chance to start completely anew," says Felix Pietsch, CEO of Upright Games. In addition, this year's biggest update to date introduces numerous additional strategic options.

How it all started: "Take a popular game concept and turn it on its head - and voilà, the next gaming hit is born! Thus was born the reverse tower defence game Royal Revolt! Instead of defending your own tower, you take on the role of the attacker, overcoming all sorts of obstacles on your way to claiming vast treasures," says the company. The sequel adds construction and PvP elements to the formula. Unlike the single-player adventure of Royal Revolt!, the multiplayer dimension is a key feature of Royal Revolt 2. Over the past decade, the game has evolved to include features such as alliances and wars between them, PvE dungeons, PvE Ninja levels in PvE, and the innovative PvE mode, Mirror World. Regular monthly seasons and weekly special events keep the game dynamic.
