Aesir Interactive, along with publisher Mindscape, has decided to postpone the Early Access release of The Legend of Khiimori until 3 March 2026. This additional time will be used to implement the "positive and constructive feedback" from their community on the Steam Next Fest demo. "We are delighted at the overwhelming response to our Steam Next Fest Demo. Thanks to the dedicated and passionate community, we have received tremendous amounts of feedback on The Legend of Khiimori. As a direct result, we have decided to delay the Early Access release to March 3rd, 2026," explains Aesir Interactive. For this reason, and in order to gather more feedback, the demo will remain available until 30 November 2025.

The following areas of improvement will be Aesir's primary focus: player guidance and world experience, camera, controls and UI, lowering minimum system requirements, performance and optimization, and a more feature and content-rich experience. "Please keep in mind that this is not a complete list, the extra time until March gives us a lot of additional room to create the best experience possible", the developers said.

Just recently, Aesir and Mindscape announced that The Legend of Khiimori will no longer be branded as a Windstorm game (also known as Ostwind in Germany). The two development studios, Aesir Interactive and NightinGames, and the game's publisher, Mindscape, have reached an agreement with the IP holder, Alias Entertainment. According to the company's statement, this will allow for more creative freedom while ensuring that the original spirit and core experience of the game remain unchanged (GamesMarkt reported).
