Around 9,500 visitors attended GG Bavaria 2026 at the Kleine Olympiahalle in Munich last weekend. This set a new record for the Bavarian gaming convention. It featured a total of 120 exhibitors, including over 30 studios, around 40 artists, and about 15 higher education institutions.

"GG Bavaria has become an important anchor point for Bavaria. It offers the local gaming landscape a stage on which studios, developers, and initiatives from the Free State can present themselves and network," said Annette Kümmel, Managing Director of Medien.Bayern GmbH, the organiser of the fair and responsible for the Games/Bavaria initiative. "GG Bavaria is well established and demonstrates the innovation and vibrancy of the gaming scene in Bavaria – and the importance of this platform for exchange, visibility, and growth today."

"With more demo stations, more programme items and significantly more visitors than last year, it's clear that GG Bavaria is becoming an increasingly important games location for Bavaria. We were overwhelmed by the positive response to the exhibition, and we are already looking forward to next year. Good Game, Bavaria!' says Robin Rottmann, Team Lead at Games/Bavaria.

On Sunday 8 March, the GG Awards were presented on the fair's main stage, honouring outstanding indie games in five categories. Bavaria's Minister of Digital Affairs, Dr Fabian Mehring, presented the audience award for the best indie game. Another highlight on Sunday was the Cosplay Catwalk, organised in collaboration with Animexx e.V. GG Bavaria not only offered entertainment, but also insights for anyone aspiring to a career in the industry. This Career Space featured panels, Q&As and workshops.

The GG Bavaria is being organised with financial support from the Bavarian State Ministry of Digital Affairs, and in cooperation with the Bavarian State Ministry of Economic Affairs, Regional Development and Energy.
