This Friday, a new Nintendo Direct has been spontaneously announced. The timing is special and could hint at the content: On Saturday, the first Super Mario Bros. is celebrating 40 years of existence.

A day before the 40th anniversary of Super Mario Bros, which came out on 13 September 1985 in Japan, Nintendo is treating fans to a new Direct showcase. The latest Nintendo Direct will begin at 3:00 p.m. CEST on Friday, September 12. The approximately 60-minute presentation will focus on games coming soon to Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch and will be aired through YouTube and Nintendo’s Direct channel.
