In January 2026, game - the German Games Industry Association honoured two video games with a game Sales Award for particularly strong sales in Germany.
With sales of over 200,000 copies, EA Sports F1 25, developed by Codemasters and published by Electronic Arts, has been honoured with a Platinum Award. The official 2025 Formula 1 World Championship racing game was released at the end of May 2025, reaching Gold Award status in July 2025 with 100,000 sales. Incidentally, there will be no new standalone F1 game this year. Instead, a paid premium expansion will be released to adapt to the major changes in the sport for the 2026 season. The next full game will then be released in 2027.
Elden Ring: Nightreign has also received a Platinum Award. This action role-playing game, which can be played cooperatively, was released at the end of May 2025. It reached the 100,000 sales mark in its release month.
