Die Bertelsmann-Tochter Barnes & Noble.com hat im 3. Quartal vor allem beim Umsatz mit DVD, Video und Musik zugelegt.

Der E-Tailer Barnes & Noble.com hat im 3. Quartal 2002 seinen Verlust auf 17,5 Mio. Dollar oder 11 Cent je Aktie senken können, berichtet Reuters. Im vorangegangenen Quartal hatte der Verlust noch 38,3 Mio. Dollar (24 Cent pro Aktie) betragen. Die Bertelsmann-Tochter habe den Umsatz vor allem dank Video, DVD und Musik um 5,9 Prozent auf 102,6 Mio. Euro steigern können. Für das Gesamtjahr prognostiziert der Onlinehändler einen Umsatz von 400 bis 420 Mio. Euro und einen Verlust von 48 bis 49 Cent pro Aktie. Barnes & Noble.com halte jedoch am Ziel fest, im kommenden Jahr schwarze Zahlen zu schreiben.
