At the traditional Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg reception at gamescom, Franziska Giffey, Berlin's Senator for Economics, Energy and Public Affairs, pledged her continued support for the industry, especially for the Gameshouse project, which will not open until early 2026 at the earliest.

The past year also shows Berlin's strong support for the local industry. Berlin provided five million euros in support through various measures. However, Giffey did not say how much money is available this year, or whether there will be an increase.

Just a few days ago, Berlin was awarded the contract to host the German Computer Game Award 2025. The capital is one of, if not the leading location for the German games industry. Berlin is home to over 300 companies from the games industry, covering a broad spectrum from indie studios to the European headquarters of international games companies
