The following games have been nominated for the main prize of the Deutscher Computerspielpreis (DCP): Enshrouded, Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders, and Thronefall. In the Best Studio category, Aesir Interactive, Gentle Troll Entertainment, and Megagon Industries are in the running.
The DCP awards ceremony is set to take place in Berlin on May 14, where the final winners—and the recipients of a total of €800,000 in prize money—will be announced. This year’s nominations showcase a diverse range of games competing for the prestigious award.
With three nominations, Keen Games' Enshrouded leads the field, competing in the categories Audio Design and Innovation and Technology, as well as in the main category Best German Game. In the latter, it faces competition from Thronefall by Grizzly Games and Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders by Megagon Industries. Additionally, Thronefall is nominated for Best Game Design, while Megagon Industries is one of three contenders for Best Studio.
Other notable nominees include Nordhold by Stunforge, Deine Stimme by Sebastian Grünwald & Reality Twist / Bayerische Landeszentrale für politische Bildungsarbeit, and Duck Detective: The Secret Salami by Happy Broccoli Games, each with two nominations. Duck Detective is also among several DCP nominees that have already been recognized on various international shortlists. Other games hoping for a DCP include Harold Halibut by Slow Bros., Songs of Silence by Chimera Entertainment, Vampire Therapist by Little Bat Games, Oddada by the team of the same name, and Closer the Distance by Osmotic Studios.
"The outstanding submissions for the DCP 2025 have once again shown us how dynamic and innovative the German games industry is. Each game is impressive not only for its unique story, but also for its creativity, innovative power and the technological potential it unfolds. The diversity of the gaming landscape reflects the commitment of the developers. It was a great pleasure for us to select the nominees from these outstanding games," says jury chairwoman Sabiha Ghellal. "I look forward to honouring the creative diversity and the commitment of the developers at the award ceremony in Berlin!"
