Indie studios worldwide still have time to submit their titles for the BIG Festival, the flagship event of gamescom latam, free of charge until December 15. In 2024, the event attracted 922 submissions, with several studios from the GSA region earning spots on the shortlist.

The second edition of gamescom latam is set to take place in São Paulo from April 30 to May 4, 2025, with preparations already in full swing. Similarly, the BIG Festival, a cornerstone of gamescom latam, is gearing up for another successful year.

Founded in 2012, the BIG Festival was established to spotlight games developed by indie studios. For the 2025 competition, indie developers worldwide can submit their entries free of charge until December 15. Both completed games and works in progress are eligible, provided they include an early access version or a playable demo for jury evaluation.

“gamescom latam BIG Festival is a great opportunity for studios to promote their games worldwide and get closer to the public in Latin America. It also offers a unique space for networking with other developers and getting access to publishers,” says Gustavo Steinberg, CEO of gamescom latam.

In 2024, 922 games from 74 countries were submitted, with numerous studios from Germany, Switzerland, and Austria making it to the shortlist. These included Slow Bros., Food for Thought Media, Daedalic, Risa Interactive, Crumbling Games, Turtle Knight Games/Cobratekku Games, and skaule games.

The selected games from the BIG Festival will be available to experience for free at gamescom latam. The debut edition of the event in 2024 attracted over 100,000 visitors, showcasing the growing appeal of gamescom latam as a premier platform for the gaming industry.

More information about the BIG Festival, how to submit and the criteria for participation can be found on the festival's website.
