As in previous years, Dan Clancy, CEO of Twitch, has shared an outlook on the company’s plans and upcoming developments in an open letter. The focus is on increasing reach through collaboration, improving the mobile experience, and expanding sponsorship opportunities.

At the beginning of the open letter, which has now become something of a tradition for Clancy, he thanks all content creators for a fantastic year. He also revealed that over 4,000 affiliates and partners have registered in six clubs on the Discord server for the so-called creator clubs. Additionally, he highlighted significant investments in Stream Together, a feature designed to support collaboration between creators.

But Twitch also has big plans for the year ahead. “Collaboration is a core part of Twitch—our service is all about connecting and creating with others. The tools we’re building are designed to make it easier to stream with a friend or bring more people into the conversation, without a ton of planning and prep work,” Clancy writes.

The company is also working on new ways to support smaller streamers in finding partners. Another focus is enhancing the mobile experience. By mid-year, both landscape and portrait videos will be available through improved broadcasting tools. Additionally, content discovery will be made easier, helping users find relevant streams more efficiently.

Further editing and sharing options are also in development. Twitch also plans to expand its monetization tools, allowing almost all streamers to benefit from day one. Another planned feature is an option to spend earnings directly within Twitch.

Clancy also touched on numerous other topics, including expanding sponsorship opportunities, hosting more promotional events, and introducing new interactive features for the Twitch community.

“We’re excited for what’s ahead! Keep an eye out for updates and launches throughout the year, and continue to share your feedback with us on UserVoice,” Clancy concludes.
