Sweden-based game developer Dead Astronauts has raised €4 million in its first seed funding round led by Behold Ventures. Klaas Kersting has also invested in the team and their open-world action-adventure game, codenamed Veil.

Founded in 2024 by Tobias Nyman, Erik Morin, Robert Moschos and Thomas Tedemalm with industry experience from Massive Entertainment, Ubisoft and Epic Games, Dead Astronauts is expanding beyond its core team and has raised €4 million in its first seed funding round. Lead investor Behold Ventures is joined by co-investors Lifelike Capital, 1Up Ventures, Acequia Capital. Angel investors are Are Mack Growen, Matt Bilbey, Klaas Kersting (Founder & CEO of Phoenix Games), Asbjoern Malte Soendergaard and Kristian Segerstråle.

Dead Astronauts is developing an open-world action-adventure game codenamed Veil in Unreal Engine 5. Veil uses procedural content generation and custom tools to create a world inspired by the vast Nordic wilderness.
