Change in leadership at InnoGames: Christian Reshöft was appointed as the new CEO of the Hamburg-based company on October 1. Founder and former CEO Hendrik Klindworth is taking on a leadership role at parent company Modern Times Group (MTG).

After almost two decades of building and leading InnoGames, one of Germany's most successful gaming companies, Hendrik Klindworth is handing over the role of CEO to the current Chief Product Officer Christian Reshöft. The change takes effect today, October 1.

Klindworth will remain with InnoGames as Chairman of the Board. However, he will take on international responsibilities for InnoGames' parent company, the Swedish Modern Times Group (MTG), in its day-to-day business. Klindworth will now serve as Executive Chairman of the newly founded MTG Midcore District.

"After almost two decades at the helm, it is the right moment to hand over operational responsibility to Christian. He has played a decisive role in shaping InnoGames over many years and is the ideal person to lead the company into the future. I am particularly proud of recent successes such as Heroes of History, which was launched a year ago and has been growing strongly ever since. I am very much looking forward to driving our strategy forward at group level and combining the strengths of the midcore studios in the District," says Hendrik Klindworth.

And Christian Reshöft adds: "Following in Hendrik's footsteps is a task I approach with great respect, but also with enormous motivation. He has shaped InnoGames as an outstanding entrepreneur. I am delighted that he will now contribute his strategic vision as Chairman of the Board of InnoGames and Executive Chairman of MTG Midcore District. We will continue on our successful course by focusing on profitable, organic growth and further expanding our core competencies. A combination of continuity and fresh impetus will determine our future path."

Michael Zillmer and Eike Klindworth, who founded InnoGames with Hendrik and serve as COO and Creative Director, respectively, say: "Hendrik's move to these strategic positions is a logical and well-deserved step. His comprehensive expertise, many years of experience, and unwavering passion for the gaming industry make him the ideal candidate. Christian, who has been working closely and trustingly with us for over a decade, is stepping up to take over the reins. His outstanding product vision and deep understanding of InnoGames guarantee continuity and fresh impetus. We stand fully behind him and will support him to the best of our ability as he leads us into the future."
