Christophe Derennes and Charlie Guillemot Lead the New Ubisoft Subsidiary

Ubisoft has announced the next step in the roadmap of its new subsidiary. The company has appointed Christophe Derennes and Charlie Guillemot as co-CEOs.
Ubisoft announced on 27 March 2025 that it would spin off its three top brands - Assassin's Creed, Far Cry and Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six - to form a new subsidiary. Tencent would invest €1.16 billion in this new subsidiary. The individuals who will be heading up this new subsidiary have now been confirmed. Christophe Derennes and Charlie Guillemot will be the co-CEOs.
Christophe Derennes has worked at Ubisoft for over 35 years. He has experience in operational and production leadership, having launched and led the Montreal studio. Most recently, he served as Managing Director for North America. Charlie Guillemot has built a hybrid career at the intersection of management and innovation. His experience in game development has given him an entrepreneurial perspective and understanding of industry dynamics and players' expectations. Since April 2025, he has been a member of Ubisoft's Transformation Committee. He is also the son of Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot.
"Together, they will lead the subsidiary in building evergreen, multi-platform game ecosystems and writing the next chapter of Ubisoft's renowned franchises", the announcement reads. "(...) The creation of the new subsidiary is progressing well. Tencent's investment in the new subsidiary, which is subject to regulatory approvals, continue to be expected by the end of 2025."
