Caggtus Increases Number of LAN Seats and Expands Massively in Terms of Space
Six months before the event, the organizers of Caggtus report initial, very positive results. The 2,360 available seats at the LAN are almost sold out, and the exhibition space is growing by almost a quarter.
For the first time, Caggtus 2026 will also use the last quarter of Hall 3 of the Leipzig Exhibition Center for the various areas. The space for the various areas away from the LAN party will grow by almost 5,000 square meters to 20,000 square meters in the future. “We are using the newly acquired space to enlarge all areas. This is especially true for Indie Ground – the community favorite is growing to 220 square meters. We are also taking trading card games and tabletop games to the next level,” says Constantin Strobl, project director of Caggtus at the Leipzig Trade Fair.
The new hall section is particularly dedicated to analog games. In cooperation with the Capital Card Convention, consumers can search for rarities at a new card show, but also rent a table themselves as private dealers. New card and tabletop tournaments are also planned. The classic gaming areas will also benefit from the increase in space. Compared to last year, the focus in the so-called freeplay area will be on console games. PC gaming will continue to be represented by the numerous hardware exhibitors.

"The signs point to growth, and we are not only using this for new offerings. Community favorites are also firmly planned: the Retro Area, the Pen & Paper Corner, the Cosplay Area, and the Cozy Games Lounge, which got off to an excellent start at its premiere. There are sure to be fireworks again on the Event Stage – in addition to the big cosplay contest, the guys from Doktor Froid will be back, among others," says Strobel.
Markus Geisenberger, Managing Director of Leipziger Messe, also confirms the growth: "No other gaming event in Germany attracts as much attention in the first half of the year as CAGGTUS Leipzig. Our festival has a fixed place in the community's calendar – and this community is growing rapidly. This year, we are once again breaking our own record for LAN attendance. Around a week after tickets went on sale, we had reached the level of the last CAGGTUS, and now almost all of the 2,360 seats are taken."
