Elden Ring Nightreign was only on sale for three days, but that was enough for Bandai Namco Entertainment's spin-off to take the top spot in the German game charts in May 2025. Seven games from Electronic Arts are in the top 20.

Three newly released games entered the German game charts in May 2025. Elden Ring Nightreign from Bandai Namco Entertainment secured the top spot as the best-selling game just a few days after its release on 29 May, ahead of EA Sports FC 25 and Grand Theft Auto V. The official game of the 2025 Formula 1 World Championship, F1 25, entered the charts at number four, even though it was released on 30 May.

Doom: The Dark Ages from Bethesda Softworks debuted at number 8; however, its availability on Xbox Game Pass is also likely to have impacted its position. The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered, also from Bethesda Softworks, which topped the charts in April, has dropped to fifth place. Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed Shadows, released in March, fell from fourth to thirteenth place.

Thanks to sales promotions on 4 May (Star Wars Day), several Star Wars games returned to the top 20. These were led by Star Wars Battlefront II, which is also enjoying a resurgence on Steam, with 18,635 concurrent players at the end of May. Other games to return to the charts include Star Wars Jedi: Survivor and Lego Star Wars: Die Skywalker Saga.
