ESL Faceit and Porsche Team up for Overwatch Championship Series at DreamHack Dallas
Porsche and the ESL Faceit Group have announced a partnership for the Overwatch Championship Series at DreamHack Dallas. This is Porsche's first partnership with an esports organiser. The sports car manufacturer will present the Macan and the MVP Award.
The ESL Faceit Group has announced Porsche as the exclusive automotive partner for the inaugural Overwatch Championship Series (OWCS) Major at DreamHack Dallas. The gaming festival will take place from 31 May to 2 June at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in Dallas, USA. This is the first time that Porsche has partnered with an esports event organiser. For Porsche, this partnership is also a strategic extension of its collaboration with Overwatch 2, as Porsche skins for D.Va and Pharah have already been created for the multiplayer shooter, featuring textures and sound effects from the Porsche Macan and Taycan electric vehicles.
"Porsche's history of extraordinary innovation and iconic design aligns perfectly with the passion and exploration of the tech-savvy fans in the Overwatch community," said Jasmin Haasbach, VP, Global Brand Partnerships, ESL Faceit Group. "We are thrilled to bring these two celebrated brands together at DreamHack Dallas."
As a partner, Porsche will honour the Most Valuable Player of the OWCS Major. Following the Grand Final and awards ceremony on Sunday, fans will be able to meet the MVP and the new Porsche Macan in front of the stage.
"This is the perfect setting for Porsche's first partnership with an esports tournament," said Ayesha Coker, Vice President of Marketing for Porsche Cars North America, an indirect wholly-owned subsidiary of Porsche AG, headquartered in Stuttgart. "OWCS and festivals like DreamHack offer new opportunities to inspire the gaming community while reaching the next generation of drivers by showcasing amazing new cars like the new all-electric Macan."
DreamHack Dallas is one of the largest gaming festivals in North America, featuring influencer and celebrity meet-and-greets, cosplay contests, an indie gaming showcase and more. This year's three-day celebration of gaming culture builds on the success of DreamHack Dallas 2023, which set a new record with 44,000 attendees - the largest attendance ever for a DreamHack festival in North America. One-day tickets for DreamHack Dallas are available starting at 39 US dollars, with 3-day passes starting at 109 US dollars.
